Friends of the Fair
- "Friends of the Fair" is the California Mid-State Fair's volunteer organization. Established in 1995, the Friends of the Fair is a group of community members that range in age from 5-95 and volunteer in many different places prior, during and after the Fair.

Heritage Foundation
- To preserve and enrich the heritage of the 16th District Agricultural Association and showcase agricultural industries to the community.
- To offer support to the 4-H and FFA projects and create agricultural education opportunities.
- To maintain a standard of excellence in the facilities and create capital improvement opportunities.
- To serve as an extension of the California Mid-State Fair that can accept charitable donations and grants.

Junior Fairboard
The California Mid-State Fair Junior Fairboard consists of young people between 16 and 24 years of age living in San Luis Obispo County who are looking to volunteer their time to a community event. Junior Fairboard members assistwith the day-to-day operations of the annual California Mid-State Fair, including events held on Kids Day, assisting in the livestock department in various jobs during the week of shows including weigh in and auction day. In addition, members also act as ushers in the Main Grandstand for all shows and any other events/activities we may be asked to assist with by fair staff.
Applicants must be residents of San Luis Obispo County and between the ages of 16-24 to be eligible for consideration. Members can serve until their 25th birthday.
The California Mid-State Fair Junior Fairboard is a volunteer position that serves at the direction of the Board of Director’s Junior Fairboard Committee. The areas of responsibility will include but not limited to: Grandstand Ushering; Tricycle Race; Diaper Derby; Livestock Area Help; Pageant Setup; and Public Judging.

What are the benefits to members?
- Junior Fairboard members receive a shirt/jacket (to be worn at all Main Grandstand events and all committee activities), a photo ID badge granting admission to the Fair, meal tickets redeemable at designated California Mid-State Fair food vendors and one (1) free guest pass per night valid for Main Grandstand events (upon artist approval).
What is required as a member?
- Members are required to attend all Junior Fairboard meetings, participate in at least one (1) committee, attend all committee meetings and events, as well as attend all Main Grandstand events as an usher.
What will cause a member to be dismissed?
- A member will be dismissed from the Junior Fairboard if one, or all of the follow occur: failure to attend three (3) meetings (excused) including shows; failure to attend one (1) meeting (unexcused); failure to fulfill duties and/or responsibilities at Main Grandstand events, committee meetings and/or events; consumption of alcoholic beverages, or use of drugs while wearing Junior Fairboard jacket or Fair ID badge; misuse of jacket, ID badge or other privileges, including lending jacket or ID badge to non members; failure to cooperate with advisors, officers or Fair staff; behavior on the Fairgrounds, whether on or off duty, that is determined to be unethical or contrary to the Fair’s standard of conduct.
