ABC Crochet is a group of friends who started getting together at our workplace to Crochet together. Originally, we all worked with children, but we have expanded and now we are made up of crossing guards, paraprofessionals, accountants, retirees, and others. ABC Crochet Club meets almost every Thursday, and we participate in a few local craft shows. We have also won awards for our group projects that we have entered at the CA Mid-State Fair.
Demonstrating alongside the Club today will be a Mid-State Fair award-winning entrant, Robin Scovell. Stop by to watch these talented ladies as they show off their craft!
J & L Simple Bead Jewelry by Jada Preston. “I picked up beading from my grandma who was big on seed bead art. It took me some time to really get into crafts, but I have been hooked since the first pair of earrings I made. I mainly use larger beads and charms to make all kinds of jewelry but will sit down and do my seed bead work when the inspiration hits.”
Local Templeton girl, Skye McLennan is the creative force behind Wombat Wares, captivating jewelry brand known for its quirky and imaginative designs. Skye crafts pieces that blend craftsmanship and nostalgia. Skye uses a mixture of Barbie shoes, found toys, clay and resin to create one-of-a-kind earrings!
We’re the Central Coast Weavers, a fiber arts group that has been active in the county for 60 years. Our members are weavers, spinners, and dyers. We will bring a variety of our activities to the fair, demonstrating spinning on a variety of spindles and spinning wheels. Weaving will be limited to small looms – rigid heddle, pin looms, inkle looms, band weaving – as well as braiding techniques. We will have a small loom all set up for you to weave on, especially fun for the kids! We look forward to seeing you there.

Ann started knitting when she was 9 years old in her 4-H Club in Big Horn, Wyoming, and has continued to knit for over 55 years. She has entered numerous items in the County Fair in Sheridan, Wyoming and at the Mid-State Fair. She enjoys all aspects of knitting, and has made sweaters, hats, shawls, blankets, and lots of Christmas stockings. She has also completed projects for those who passed before the items were finished and sewn together. She taught knitting for several years at Michael’s until they stopped offering classes in 2019. Ann will be showing off her knitting skills for you from 4 to 8pm in the Ponderosa Pavilion.
