4:00 pm-8:00 pm - California Rare Fruit Growers

Central Coast Chapter Demonstration of Fruit Tree Grafting

The California Rare Fruit Growers was formed in the 1980s by a group of people who shared a common interest in growing rare and exotic fruit and preserving old time varieties that were in danger of being lost. The group now has chapters throughout California, and in Arizona and Texas. CRFG members grow everything from tropical fruit and citrus trees to heirloom varieties of apples, pears, and stone fruits. Our local chapter, the Central Coast chapter, has a web site, https://www.crfg-central.org, and teaches fruit tree propagation and care, including grafting and pruning, at monthly meetings and our annual scion exchange. During our demonstration at the Mid-State Fair, we will be demonstrating some basic grafting techniques and answering questions.
