"Back to the 80s" themed Exhibits contests for this years fair are:
Create a small quilt inspired by the bold, colorful, and iconic style of the 1980s. Designs may reflect 80s pop, culture, music, fashion, neon patterns, geometric shapes, or retro graphics. Quilt may be pieced, appliqued, embroidered, or a combination of techniques. All quilts must be completed and include a 4" hanging sleeve (rod pocket) attached to the back to facilitate hanging. Entry must NOT exceed 60" in length.
Design and decorate a garden gnome inspired by 180s style. Your gnome should reelect bold colors, big hair, neon, pop culture, music, characters or fashion from the decade. Accessories, props, and creative materials are encouraged. Entry must be hand-decorated and prominently feature 80's influence.
Create a three- demential boom box inspired by the bold and colorful style of the 1980s. Your design may be constructed form cardboard, wood, foam, wire, recycled materials, or any creative materials you have available. The boom box must be fully three- demential, stand securely on its own for display, and include hand crafted details such as speakers, buttons, dials, antennas, or decorative accents. Bright colors, retro patterns, and fun embellishments are encouraged. Creativity and originality will be considered in judging.
Create a decorated cake inspired by the 180s. Design should recent bold colors, iconic pop culture, music fashion, or trends from the decade. Entries may be sculpted, tiered, or traditional styles. Attention to detail, creativity, and clean finishing will be considered in judging. No size restrictions.
