CEO Vivian Robertson said, “In these tough economic times, we wanted to give the public a great value.  It’s obvious by the number of Season Passes sold that the public appreciated the opportunity, and we’re very grateful.  Our county Fair has always been a place for kids and families to come together, and we’re very excited about this summer.” Patrons can still find a great value with the Season Passes, as corporate partner Food-4-Less is currently offering their annual “Discount Coupon” promotion.  Stop by Food-4-Less in San Luis Obispo, Atascadero or Paso Robles and pick up a “Discount Coupon” which can be redeemed for $10 off an adult Season Pass or $3 off a child’s Season Pass. Tickets for the show will be free with paid admission to the Fair.   Money has been making music and delivering it to fans since the mid-70’s.  With hits like “Two Tickets To Paradise”, “Baby Hold On”, “Walk On Water”, “Think I’m In Love” and “Shakin”, Eddie continues to be one of the hardest working men in rock n’ roll.  Money performs around 150 shows every year.  He has recorded over a dozen albums of his own and done numerous projects in television and film.  A prodigy of manager Bill Graham, Money was launched into stardom during the early years of MTV and music videos.  An accomplished musician, he sings, writes and plays the saxophone, harmonica and piano. The California Mid-State Fair is known for booking top-level entertainment, with the likes of Aerosmith, Tom Petty, George Strait and Rascal Flatts having performed in the past. The 2009 Fair will run from July 22, 2009, through August 2, 2009. http://www.midstatefair.com/news_details.php?id=378 http://www.midstatefair.com/news-details.php?id=406 Judas Priest & Whitesnake The California Mid-State Fair is pleased to announce that hard-rockers Judas Priest and Whitesnake have been signed to perform at the 2009 Fair on Wednesday, July 29th.  Judas Priest and Whitesnake will be part of the California Mid-State Fair’s 2009 Budweiser Concert Series and be performing in the Main Grandstand Arena at 7:30p. Tickets for the show will be $53, $43 and $27, and go on sale Thursday, April 23, 2009, at 10:00a.  Tickets will be available at the California Mid-State Fair box office, on-line at www.midstatefair.com, any Vallitix outlet, or charge by phone at 1-800-909-FAIR. For the past few years, Judas Priest has unquestionably ruled the U.S. summer concert scene, having been a part of both the top-grossing Ozzfest and Metal Masters tours. And this summer, Priest has done it again, by uniting with Whitesnake for a series of stateside shows. Priest will be celebrating the ‘30th Anniversary’ of the classic album ‘British Steel’ (it was originally issued in April 1980), by performing the album in its entirety for the very first time ever live on stage!!!  In addition they will be playing some old favorites. Along with 1982’s ‘Screaming for Vengeance’ and 1990’s ‘Painkiller,’ ‘British Steel’ has long been considered one of metal’s all-time classics. It was with this release that Priest truly broke through to the masses, with a pair of tracks that have become fixtures on rock radio - the enduring anthems “Breaking the Law” and “Living After Midnight.” But like all classic albums, there is not a single weak track detected on ‘British Steel,’ as evidenced by such standouts as the perennial concert highlight, “Metal Gods,” as well as “Rapid Fire,” “Grinder,” “United,” and “The Rage,” among others. Judas Priest - singer Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, bassist Ian Hill, and drummer Scott Travis - remain as popular as ever to this day, confirmed once and for all upon the release of 2008’s ‘Nostradamus,’ which became their highest-ever charting album in the U.S. Two years earlier, the group was the inaugural inductees into the ‘VH1 Rock Honors.’ The forthcoming summer dates with Whitesnake are surely not to be missed by metal-heads from coast to coast, especially now that fans will be reintroduced up close and personal to the mighty ‘British Steel.’ Along with Priest, Whitesnake is certainly one of the most instantly identifiable names in all of hard rock. Priest and Whitesnake toured together in 2005 (in Mexico and South America), resulting in such a well-received and great package that since then, both groups have been planning to work together again. This summer, U.S. fans will finally get their wish.  Led by David Coverdale, the band has recorded 11 studio albums and put out 29 singles.  Their biggest commercial success in the United States came in the late 80’s with the songs “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love”.  Their video for the song “Here I Go Again” was a staple of MTV in 1987 and featured actress Tawny Kitaen, whom Coverdale latter married. Neither band has ever performed at the California Mid-State Fair.  The California Mid-State Fair is known for booking top-level entertainment, with the likes of Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Journey and Godsmack having performed in the past. The 2009 Fair will run from July 22, 2009, through August 2, 2009. http://www.midstatefair.com/news_details.php?id=406 http://www.midstatefair.com/news-details.php?id=416 Home Winemaking http://www.midstatefair.com/news_details.php?id=416 http://www.midstatefair.com/news-details.php?id=411 Journey & Heart Together The California Mid-State Fair is pleased to announce that classic rock legends Journey and Heart have been signed to perform at the 2009 Fair on Thursday, July 23rd.  Journey and Heart will be part of the California Mid-State Fair’s 2009 Budweiser Concert Series and be performing in the Main Grandstand Arena at 7:30p. Tickets for the show will be $57, $47 and $41, and go on sale Thursday, April 23, 2009, at 10:00a.  Tickets will be available at the California Mid-State Fair box office, on-line at www.midstatefair.com, any Vallitix outlet, or charge by phone at 1-800-909-FAIR. Journey continues to be one of the most successful rock bands of all-time.  Now with lead singer Arnel Pindea, the group features orignial members Neal Schon on guitar and Ross Valory on bass.  In addition, fans will recognize Jonathan Cain on keyboards and Deen Castronovo on drums.  The group has sold over 75 million records world-wide. The band’s hitlist reads like a chrocincle of rock music.  From late 70’s classics “Wheel In The Sky” and “Lights” to the career-defining “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Who’s Crying Now” and the power balads “Open Arms” and “Faithfully”, Journey continues to rock hard.  Their latest CD, Revelation, was released last summer and has been certified Platinum. As for Heart, Ann and Nancy Wilson first showed the world that women can rock in the '70s with hits like "Crazy on You," "Magic Man," "Barracuda," "Straight On," "Even It Up," and "Kick It Out." They continued topping the charts through the ‘80s and into the ‘90s with hits like "These Dreams," "Alone," "What About Love" and "Never," all of which showcased the sisters' enormous talents as both musicians and singers.  Along the way, Heart sold more than 30 million records, has had 21 Top 40 hits, sold out arenas worldwide, and had a profound influence on rock music. Both Journey and Heart have performed at the California Mid-State Fair in year’s past.  The California Mid-State Fair is known for booking top-level entertainment, with the likes of Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Rod Stewart and Bob Dylan having performed in the past. Little Texas is regarded as one of the “super groups” of the 1990’s, producing Top 10 hits like “My Love”, “God Blessed Texas”, “Some Guys Have All The Love”, “What Might Have Been”, “Kick A Little” and “Amy’s Back In Austin.” After disbanding in the late 90’s, four original members decided to put the band back together in 2004.  Porter Howell, Duane Propes, Del Gray and Dwayne O’Brien have since released two CD’s for new record label Montage Music.  In June of 2007 the CD ‘Missing Years’ hit record stores, with Howell as the lead vocalist.
