PASO ROBLES (CA) – The California Mid-State Fair, as part of the Budweiser Concert Series, is pleased to announce that Van Halen has been booked for the 2013 Fair. The show will take place at 7:30p on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in the Chumash Grandstand Arena. Ticket prices for the show are $50, $85, $110 and $180 and will go on sale Friday, May 17 at 10:00a. Tickets will be available at the California Mid-State Fair box office (2198 Riverside Avenue in Paso Robles), any ValliTix location, online at www.midstatefair.com or by calling 1-800-909-FAIR. Van Halen has sold over 75 million albums worldwide and has charted the most #1 hits in the history of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart. The legendary rock band is known for their songs “Jump”, “Ain’t Talking ‘Bout Love”, “Panama” and “Runnin’ With The Devil”. Recently reunited with original front man David Lee Roth, the band consists of Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen and Wolfgang Van Halen. PASO ROBLES – The California Mid-State Fair is pleased to announce that once again, Season Passes will be offered through our “2-Fer Tuesday” promotion. During the month of May – on each Tuesday only, and between 9:00am and 4:00pm – Season Passes to the 2013 California Mid-State Fair will be sold as follows: Two (2) Adult Season Passes will be sold for $50 and two (2) Child’s Season Passes will be sold for $20. Season passes allow for entry into the 2013 Fair each of the twelve days. California Mid-State Fair CEO Vivian Robertson said, “2-Fer Tuesday has been so successful the past three years that we’re offering this program again for the 2013 Fair. Contestants must be between the ages of 17-22 on opening day of the 2013 Fair, be a current resident of San Luis Obispo County, and have never been married. Each contestant will compete in five categories: Interview, Platform, Talent, Swimsuit and Evening Wear.  The Pageant takes place on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, the night before the 2013 CMSF commences.  2.)   Applications are now being accepted for the Junior Fairboard. The deadline for applications is Friday, June 14, 2013 by 5:00p.  Applicants must be between the ages of 16 – 20 years old, and be a resident of San Luis Obispo County. Junior Fairboard members assist with the day-to-day operations of the annual California Mid-State Fair, including events such as the Diaper Derby, Tricycle Races, and Public Judging.  In addition, members help in the livestock ring, act as ushers in the Chumash Grandstand Arena, and obtain market research from fairgoers.  3.)   Applications are now being accepted for the Quilt Challenge.  The challenge fabric is currently available at the Paso Robles Event Center Administration Office located at 2198 Riverside Avenue, Paso Robles or Sew Fun located at 8775 El Camino Real, Atascadero. A $3 entry fee will be assessed when you turn in your entry form and pick-up your challenge fabric.  Finished quilts must be delivered to the California Mid-State Fair on Friday, June 21, 2013 between 2:00p and 6:00p or Saturday, June 22nd between 9:00a and 2:00p.
